3D Café

We have moved the Discussing Death and Dying Café from after the Margaret River Organic Garden café to be instead during the café, from 10am to 12 noon. We meet every second Saturday of the month at the Organic Garden (between the TAFE and the senior highschool). For the remainder of 2023, the dates will be:

  • Saturday 14 October 2023
  • Saturday 11 November 2023
  • Saturday 9 December 2023

The 3D café is an opportunity to meet informally over a cuppa to discuss issues related to ageing, end of life, death and dying. Everyone is welcome. We will have our literature and lending library available.

Remembrance Creative Workshop

Exploring how art can support us in life and in death

Saturday, April 10 from 10am to 4pm, Church Gallery, Margaret River Community Centre

The Live-Die-Well Collaborative – Helen Seiver, Julieanne Hilbers and Christopher Young – are holding a ‘Remembrance’ workshop.

Material fees have been waived.

We will be doing weaving (involving a few techniques including braiding, knots, string making etc.) and adding of stories to the roving coffin first thing (10-1pm) and eco dyeing with shroud materials later in the day after lunch. The ‘coffin’ is a stick framework we made back in February that will travel through Margaret River, Balingup and Bunbury before settling at a remembrance ceremony on May 21.

Below you will find the flyer for what will be the first of three workshops in Margaret River, Balingup and Bunbury.

Advance Care Planning Workshop in April

We are holding an Advance Care Planning workshop on Wednesday, 7 April from 3.00pm to 5.30pm at the Duggan Pavilion, Cowaramup.

This free workshop is presented by Palliative Care WA, sponsored by DDM AMR, and funded via a grant from Transition Margaret River.

Advance care planning is the process of discussing and documenting your future health care wishes, values and priorities. It enables your family, friends, carers and health professionals to understand what you want, should you become so unwell that you are unable to speak for yourself.

Reserve your place by emailing us at: info@ddmamr.org

Claire O’Berry

took on the responsibility of caring for both of her parents as they approached the end of their lives over a six year period of time. Both her parents died in their own time, at home surrounded by loving family and friends.

After this, many people sought Claire’s help to replicate that experience for themselves or family members.

The presentation is free of charge thanks to a grant from Transition Margaret River

After the presentation there will be tea and cake.
